The Spirit most certainly moved among us this past week as we celebrated the affirmation of two of our young people. It was an amazing day, with great music, a pentecost windsock made by our youth and a beautiful set of people giving praise to God for God’s many blessings.

This coming week we celebrate Holy Trinity, and on this day we gather to proclaim the great mystery of our Trinitarian faith, that our One God is known to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  One of my favorite images for the Trinity is an icon written by Andrei Rublev in 1410.  I love this image because it depicts the three persons of the Trinity gathered around a table. There seems to be an empty seat for the viewer, as if God is invited us to sit down, to join in relationship with God.

The powerful witness of the Trinity is that God is always about relationships, that God is always seeking to welcome us into God’s love and life.
