This past week we had our first Confirmation Class of the fall. Confirmation is something that youth in the Lutheran church do as they claim their faith as their own and step forward promising to following Jesus. It ends with the celebration of their Affirmation of Baptism, when the youth say their “yes!” to the promises that God gave them in their baptism. There is two years of this intentional faith formation, with monthly classes, worship, retreats, service projects, meetings with mentors, going to camp and all sorts of fun. It’s a pretty fabulous experience, and helps shape the whole life of the congregation.

We do our confirmation class with our neighbors down at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in South Plainfield. And they host a website for the class, so that we can have some on-line learning and interaction between our classes. So for our confirmands, just a reminder that everything you need to know is here.
