With other Christians, we celebrate the season of Advent in the four weeks before Christmas.  It is a season of preparation for the birth of Jesus.  We mark this time with quiet, prayer, listening, and paying attention to God’s work among us and around us.  One ways we celebrate Advent is by lighting candles. These candles are lit to name the power of Jesus to conquer the darkness around us.  Especially as our days are shorter and darker, these candles radiating light offer the hope of Jesus to shatter the darkness of our lives. In our Sunday worship, we sing Advent carols and light the candles of the Advent wreath, with hope and expectation. We’d love to have you join us Sunday mornings in December for this time of light, hope and quiet in the midst of a busy holiday season.
